Pylos
Pylos, meaning clay, earth or mud, is an exhibition highlighting the diversity within the medium of ceramics. Showcasing both the traditional craft of pottery as well as the use of clay in contemporary art. Discovering the technical wizardry and extreme skill embedded in the ceramic practice.
The ceramicists in this exhibition use expansive and ever-changing processes to create functional vessels, raku-fired pottery, three-dimensional drawings, and ceramic installation. All uniquely playing with texture and form through exploration into glazes, earth and other matter.
