Drone, 2025, Wood, 32×32×36cm, Michael Fischer
Michael’s wood and ceramic sculptures explore the interplay between organic and industrial processes of growth and disintegration. Existing in various stages of fragmentation and assembly, the works emerge and submerge within scattered, amorphous or reclusive states. They appear both familiar and alien, evoking a shifting emotional landscape that invites contemplation of potential functions and shifting meanings.
Based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Michael has exhibited in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Japan. He is an alumnus of De Ateliers in Amsterdam and the Mass Correspondence Course. Alongside his artistic practice, he works part time as an art therapist within the NHS.
